From Gascogne, this fresh white made from Colombard, Ugni Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc, is crisp and full of citrus, mineral and herbal flavors. Perfect as an aperitif or to clean the palate from rich gravy.

John Albin manages King Estate, the largest winery in Oregon. After work, he makes about 500 of his own wine.   The  Pinot Gris is concentrated and fruit forward, yet balanced by natural crispness,  firm acidity and elegance derived from barrel fermentation and extensive lees stirring..  A great match for the big bird.

From the botique Roots Winery, the Klee Pinot is blended from the five vineyards that winemaker Chris Berg uses for his single vineyard wines.  The Klee has red cherry and raspberry fruit along with minerality and finesse.  You'll want seconds.

From the choicest block of Matt Kinne's tiny 12 acre vineyard, the 2006 Ladd Hill is a fully developed Oregon Pinot with fresh berry and cherry flavors combined with layers of spice, minerals and smooth silky tannins.  Lip smacking good.

From a Minervois producer comes this big, robust red from the south of France. It is not everyday you see a pure Carignan. This one has tons of black fruit, tobacco, earth and spice. Not a traditional Thanksgiving choice, but the Clames Carignan will stand up to all the mixed flavors of the traditional meal.

Blending cask-aged tawnies from 8 to 20 years of age, the Rocha 10 Year Old shows a very well-developed richness with macaroon, almond, caramel and orange zest flavors.  Great with desert or as desert by itself
