2007 Charles Smith Wines "Chateau Smith" Cabernet Sauvignon - Columbia Valley $18

2008 K Vintners "The Boy" - Walla Walla Valley $45
90% Grenache, 10% Syrah This Boy's a wild one: ripe black currant and blackberry, cigarbox and dried game meats. All the fruit comes from Armada vineyard, a very stony, ancient riverbed located on the floor of the Walla Walla Valley, This vineyard is one of the few in the Valley that is farmed biodynamically. The fruit was hand-picked, foot crushed, fermented with only native yeasts, hand punched down, basket pressed, and aged in 100% French neutral oak, and it was not filtered. This wine is all about intensity-especially in terms of aroma. Expect room-filling aromatics: spicy sanguine, earthy, and all the red fruits...raspberry, strawberry, and cherries.
